You’d be forgiven for believing that winter is over in Colorado. It’s June, the weather is warmer, and the ground is much much greener. But, believe it or not, several mountains throughout the state are expected to get fairly heavy snowfalls over the next few days.

According to the National Weather Service, Colorado Spring’s iconic Pikes Peak is looking to receive up to six inches of fresh snowfall throughout Friday, June 16, and Saturday is set to bring the mountain top a possible three inches more. Altogether, the summit of Pikes Peak could receive just under ten inches leading into Sunday morning.

Mount Evans is looking at a little less snowfall, specifically on Saturday. Friday, however, could bring the mountain that same six inches of total snowfall seen in the Pikes Peak forecast. On top of that, the mountain may receive just under an inch and a half throughout Thursday, June 15, for a possible total snowfall of seven and a half inches.

The lovely Arapahoe Basin is even expected to get a little bit of snow over the next few days, with a total of around an inch possible. Unfortunately, that’s mixed with a heavy amount of rainfall, so the snow actually staying on the ground is probably pretty doubtful.
