Over the weekend, Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah wrapped up its longest season ever.
To celebrate the end of Solitud’es ski season, meteorologist Chase Thomasen from KUTV 2 News covered the weekend weather forecast while shredding down the slopes. Back during opening weekend in November, he also covered the weather while shredding at Solitude, so it’s a cool full-circle moment.
While snowboarding in the Moonbeam terrain pod, he broke down what Utah ski resorts were still open as of Friday, what ski conditions were going to be like on Saturday and Sunday, the smoke forecast, and the upcoming weather throughout the state.
WATCH: It’s closing weekend at Solitude! It’s hard to believe I was here more than six months ago for opening day. It was an all-time year with the most snow and longest season on record. #utwx pic.twitter.com/6vb9Osa3IR

After giving the forecast, Chase got to chat with the news anchors over at 2News. He then hilariously wiped out at the end, much to the delight of the newsroom. Admittedly, multi-tasking on soft spring snow isn’t the easiest feat to pull off.
