If there’s one video that properly displays “things could have gone much worse”, it’s this one. If he landed just a few inches further back, he surely would have fallen into the river, and who knows what would have happened after that.

Chris Whatford is a pretty darn stellar skier, so it’s not too much of a surprise to see that he kept trying again and again to land this. This might also be one of the coolest gaps I’ve seen in a long time. Unfortunately, it seems as though he never quite figured out the landing. Fortunately, he took all these hits without seriously hurting himself or falling to the river below, and I think we’d all much rather see him walk away in good health than see him land the air.
