Lots of theories on Reddit as to why this collision wasn’t avoided and we’d love to hear yours. Opinions range including the downed skier being obscured by a combination of a dust cloud and the passing shadow of the chairlift and simple case of target fixation (attentional phenomenon observed in which an individual becomes so focused on an observed object that they inadvertently increase their risk of colliding with the object). I’m of the mind the skier was simply zoned out and in autopilot. Whaddya think?
