Teenager Killed In Skiing Accident At New Hampshire Ski Area

On Saturday night, a tragedy occurred at Pats Peak Ski Area in Henniker, New Hampshire.  A fifteen-year-old boy, Christopher Diprima, was skiing on the Duster trail when he was fatally injured. According to a family member, he hit a bump and went flying, resulting in a lethal crash.

The accident occurred around 6:35 p.m. on Saturday evening. The Pats Peak ski patrol arrived shortly afterward and brought him to the base area. The Henniker Rescue Squad picked him up and rushed Christopher to Concord Hospital. Due to his injuries, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Christopher DiPrima was a student at Excel Academy East Boston. He got into skiing last year and was becoming pretty good at it. He was an academic genius and enjoyed hanging with his friends, watching movies, playing video games, and had started to get into chess.

Joe DiPrima, Christopher DiPrima’s uncle and godfather, described him to the Boston Globe:

“He was the nicest kid possible, polite, intellectually curious. I always thought, this kid doesn’t have to work his whole life like I did. He could be anything. Just a smart, talented, and serious kid.”

Kris Blomback, who is the general manager of Pats Peak, released the following statement to the Boston Globe on Sunday:

“Our sympathies go out to his family during this difficult time, and the staff of Pats Peak is greatly saddened by this incident last night.”
