The Mad River Valley in Vermontfeatures some of the most intense trails & glades in the Northeast. Mad River Glen’s slogan is Ski It If You Can for a reason, and Sugarbush has its own intense terrain pods. The most glaring example of this is Castlerock, the experts-only terrain zone which requires your A-game. The area features a variety of advanced and expert runs, with the most daunting trail being Rumble.
The folks over at PeakRankings gave a video tour of the run over there, showing the challenges that exist throughout. During the day that he shredded, there was luckily 3″ of fresh snow to soften things up. Underneath that, the typical ice and rocks made going down them a grueling experience.
