Letter To The Editor: Tahoe Has Too Much Snow For Snowboarders

Yo, what’s up Unofficial Networks,

Droppin’ some knowledge ’bout the snow situation in Tahoe for all my fellow shredders out there. Now, I know some of y’all might be thinkin’, “too much snow? How can that be a problem?” But it is, hear me out, cuz there’s some real issues that come with a snow dump.

When the snow stacks up high, it can make it real difficult to get around. Shredding through deep powder might seem like a dream come true, but it can be a real pain in the ass too. It’s like trying to walk through quicksand – the more you move, the deeper you sink. And if you’re on a snowboard, forget about it – you might as well be stuck in a snowbank.

Secondly, all that snow can make it tough to see what’s going on around you. When the flakes are comin’ down hard and fast, it can create some serious whiteout conditions. You can’t see the bumps, the jumps, or the other shredders on the mountain. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Thirdly, all that shoveling. It seems like every time I get comfortable on the couch on my pipe I need to go outside and shovel some more. It was fun at the beginning of the season but now my back hurts and it’s no longer any fun.

And here is the big one. Too much snow can actually be dangerous. All that weight can cause avalanches, which are no joke. Even if you’re an experienced skier or snowboarder, you can get caught up in an avalanche and have no way out. It’s not worth the risk, homies.

Fourthly, the mountain keeps shutting down. Whats the point of getting all this snow when you can even rip it? I ask you.

So there you have it, Unofficial Networks. Too much snow might seem like a blessing, but it can actually be a curse for us shredders. Keep it safe out there, and remember to respect the power of the powder. Peace out!

Shawn from South Lake Tahoe
