Ukraine’s Largest Ski Resort Remains Open Despite War

Ukraine’s largest ski resort is still open despite the war with Russia raging on in the eastern half of the country.

Bukovel, located in the Carpathian Mountains in far southwestern Ukraine, has remained open throughout the season.

The majority of customers are women and children, as most of the country’s men are fighting, and foreign tourism has come to a halt.

The resort has also accepted refugees and wounded soldiers throughout the war.

Kudos to the people who run Bukovel for doing their best to offer a distraction to the war torn people of Ukraine.

Life is hard, but skiing is fun.

Here’s hoping the women and children who have have been able to ski Bukovel this season got some much-deserved relief, even if for a few moments.
