The Tunnel at Alpe d’Huez, France is often considered the hardest trail in Europe.

It isn’t the steepest on the continent, but the long descent through VW Bus-sized mogul fields is enough to challenge any skier.

The Tunnel gets its name from the long cave in the mountain that skiers push through to reach the top of the trail.
