Sugar Bowl Resort Announces Multiple Week Ski Season Extension

Another ski resort has officially announced an extension to its ski resort, with Sugar Bowl Resort in California pushing its closing date two weeks to April 23. According to the Sierra Sun, the mountain has now received over 390″ of snowfall so far this season.

“We’ve seen significant storm after storm this season, and in celebration of the incredible snow conditions, we are extending the season another two weeks so skiers and riders can take full advantage of it. We’re also lining up some awesome spring deals, including the return of our Spring Pass, and will bring back a fan favorite – the Pond Skim on our closing weekend.” – Sugar Bowl Resort executive director of marketing and sales Jon Slaughter

Sugar Bowl’s spring deals are indeed pretty awesome, with the mountain offering a $399 spring pass ($99 for children) that provides access to the mountain from March 1 to the new closing date. Season pass holders at any other Tahoe resort will also be able to purchase a day pass at Sugar Bowl for just $89 after March 1, allowing them to escape any major spring skiing lift lines.

According to SNOWPAK, Sugar Bowl closed last season on April 17, and in 2021, they closed on April 18. The 2016/17 season saw the mountain closing its lifts on a remarkably late May 7th.
