You always hear “never meet your heroes, as you’re bound to be disappointed”, or something along the lines of that. If your hero happens to be Chris Benchetler, though, it seems like meeting him might be quite the treat.

Redditor liam_j_woods5 posted about his interactions with Benchetler to r/skiing just a few days ago, explaining that he had met the skier at the Arc’teryx Backcountry academy in Whistler. According to the post, Benchetler drew up a custom freehand piece on the Redditor’s helmet along side a signature.

Chris also showed off his new 2024 Bent 120s, along with the art that inspired several of the top sheets (the 2024s aren’t out yet, obviously, but check out this years, and other years, Bent Chetler skis. They’re super sweet).

Cheers to you Chris, glad you’re out there inspiring fans to be creative and love skiing, rather than giving them a hard time or something like that. It’s always great to hear about cool famous people, rather than famous people who’ve let it all go to their head.
