If you’re looking for a place to stay while you’re at Schweitzer Resort in Idaho, you should take a look at The Castle. For The Love Of Old Houses found this unique rental gem: a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom property is located one mile above Schweitzer. It’s actually a ski-in/out property, but it should be noted that it’s for experts only. For less skilled snowsports enthusiasts, there’s a road to access it by vehicle.
Inside, the awe-inspiring European castle vibes continue. Some of the features include hydronic-heated Idaho Quartzite floors, a large living room with a 50-foot wood-burning fireplace, and a massive dining table meant for large crowds. There’s also a private hot tub room, which gives views of the surrounding mountains.
The only cons I can think of are the lack of beds for large groups, the smaller fridge, and there’s no garage space for guests. In spite of this though, if I had the money, I’d stay here for a trip at Schweitzer.
The average rate for the vacation home is $609 a night. You can check it out on VRBO here, or take a look at some photos of the property below.
