Utah got pummeled with nearly 3 feet of snow over the last seven days, and thousands of Salt Lake City skiers and riders were chomping at the bit for their first day at a resort.
The sun came out today, and so did the masses.
Solitude and Brighton are the only resorts in northern Utah open today, and both announced earlier this morning that their parking lots were full.
A couple of videos have been making the rounds online showing huge lines forming at the base of Solitude.
It’s important to note that Solitude only has two chairlifts and seven trails open.

The early-season hype just proved to be too much for Solitude and Brighton to handle alone.
I feel bad for everybody jammed up in the lift lines, but I guess that’s just the way it goes.
Park City Mountain Resort, Alta, and Snowbird are all opening next week. That should help thin out the crowds.
Stay safe out there, friends!
