Colorado high school cross country athletes were competing in an annual state championship when a mama bear and her two cubs interrupted the race.
Ironically, the race was being held near Bear Creek Park in Colorado Springs.
Kevin Vaughan, a reported for Denver’s 9News posted a video to Twitter of the bears running across the course. Check it out below:

This puts a whole new context to that old saying about how you don’t have to be able to run faster than a bear. You just have to be faster than the competitors around you…????
