Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado is the little brother of the Aspen Skiing Company, as it’s small compared to the behemoths of Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Snowmass. Buttermilk still serves as an important mountain for Aspen Snowmass though due to it being the local mountain that skiers and riders learn how to shred at, along with being home to many events for the Winter X Games annually.

This offseason, Buttermilk is investing $23 million by adding a new guest services building and renovating one of their base lodges: Bumps. The new service lodge will serve as the home for ticket sales, guest lockers, rentals, and retail space. The building will be 100% electric, helping the Aspen Skiing Company obtain its environmental goals through renewable energy sources. Bumps will be renamed Buttermilk Mountain Lodge and will expand the space by 2300 square feet. They are improving locker rooms, renovating their cafeteria, and building an indoor/outdoor bar. This bar will give a direct view of Buttermilk’s iconic Superpipe.

In a construction update video posted on Wednesday, Aspen Snowmass showed how the projects are going over at Buttermilk.
