Holiday Valley Ski Resort is a popular resort near Buffalo, NY.
The resort posted this behind-the-scenes video of the daily responsibilities of a lift mechanic, and It’s pretty neat to see how much goes into maintaining newer high-speed lifts.
Ski lift technology has come a long way since the days of a rope tow attached to an old tractor engine ????
Even with all of the high-tech gadgets I find it somewhat humorous that the lift mechanics essentially slap the wheels and belts with a wooden stick to make sure things are working correctly.
Remember to thank a lift mechanic the next time you see one!
