National Parks Service- ‘It’s Sploot Season’

The National Parks Service (@nationalparksservice) is a must-follow on Instagram. Their posts are constantly making me laugh, and whoever is running their account definitely deserves a raise!

Their most recent posts describes the act of ‘splooting’. It’s when an animal lays down with all arms and legs spread out.

You’ve probably seen your dog do it, and you might even see a wild animal in one of our country’s fantastic National Parks using the pose to chill out.

The National Parks Service included three different examples of animals splooting in the wild. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I did, and help me in spreading the word that it’s now ‘Sploot Season’.

“Be bear, squirrel, or even tortoise, it’s officially sploot season.”
