Did you know that Cirrus Aircraft designs all of their planes with a full-plane parachute system to be used in case of emergencies? In fact, they’re the only company that includes a whole airframe parachute as standard equipment in all of their models.
The video below shows one of those parachute systems being used by a pilot in Belgium. He survived thanks to it.
I’m not going to pretend I’m an aviation expert, because I’m definitely not, but I had no idea that parachutes for entire airplanes even existed. Pretty neato.
