If you have a Colorado trip planned this summer, you’re going to want to get to Glenwood Caverns. The grand opening of Defiance at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park makes it home to the country’s highest looping coaster. While the grand opening was technically on Saturday, the roller coaster had a soft opening starting on July 1st. Some of the grand opening day ceremonies included a ribbon-cutting, Defiance pins for the first 100 guests, free swag, giveaways, and a concert from Prince cover band Paizley Park. For the coaster community, the addition of Defiance sets it as the marquee attraction at the park. While the amusement park certainly has thrilling rides like the Soaring Eagle Zip Ride and Giant Canyon Swing, it didn’t have a roller coaster with that kind of intensity. There are some complaints that the ride is shorter than the typical Gerlauster roller coaster, as the ride is rather short, lasting just 56 seconds. Alas, its strengths are the views and the steep drop, making it a must-ride attraction at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. A video P.O.V. of the ride, along with some stats for the roller coaster are below. Roller Coaster Stats:

Elevation: 7132 feet above sea level

Manufacturer: Gerlauster

Height: 75 feet

Drop: 110 Feet

Max Speed: 56 miles per hour

Drop Angle: 102.3°

Inversions: 2
