I’ve watched this video a solid 10-15 times and I still can’t understand what happened. I’ll try my best to break it down, but I still have some unanswered questions.
So, it looks like this guy is a fairly decent skier. He’s getting low and transferring energy through his skis in each turn. Then, it seems like he catches an edge, and then explodes vertically into the air.
Can anybody help me make sense of this? Check it out.

Thank goodness somebody was recording. That’s a crash I would struggle to explain to somebody without the help of an HD video…
