It’s not every day that you see part of the terminal of a new lift on the highway. Instagrammer @kattcarltonn sent this video to @i70things of part of the new Game Creek Express that is heading to Vail Mountain Resort. The video shows one part of the terminal, which has the name of the lift on it. While it’s a sweet video to capture at the moment, I imagine it’s pretty sketchy driving past it based on the narrow roads that make up I-70.
The old Game Creek Express, a high-speed quad, is being replaced this summer by a detachable six-pack chairlift. So far, the old lift has been removed from the terrain pod, leaving Game Creek without a lift for the first time since 1985. As shown above, the parts are currently making their way to Vail, and construction will continue through this summer and fall. The new Game Creek Express Chairlift is expected to open during the 2022-23 season.
