Killington to Close This Weekend

It marks the latest time skiing and snowboarding has been on offer for 25-years at the US east coast resort. NEW

The 1996/97 season lasted until June 22nd.

“When lift operations conclude, we will have offered more than 190 days of skiing and riding this season here at Killington,” said Mike Solimano, president and general manager of Killington Resort.

“Year-round adventure kicked off with mountain biking and golf, Memorial Day weekend.

“Next winter we’re excited to kick off the longest season in the East with the unveiling of the new K-1 Base Lodge and the return of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup.”

The skiing is on preserved snow and is being carefully maintained by the resort.

The snowmaking team began work on October 17th 2021 in preparation of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup.

It continued making and stockpiling snow until the end of March 2022.

The grooming team has since worked to preserve the snow.

Meanwhile over in the west of the USA the resort of Altas in Utah may have closed but the locals have been hiking up for some powder.
