It bodes well for the ski season that will see the borders open to international travellers for the first time since the pandemic. Perisher is opening this weekend, a week ahead of schedule. NEW
The resort of Perisher in New South Wales has seen 30cm of fresh snow with another 20cm predicted.
Another storm is coming the forecasters predict there could be up to 1m of snow by next week making it the best start to winter for over 50 years.

Further south in the state of Victoria Mt Buller has seen 20m of fresh snow with the freezing level down to 600m in the area.
The cold temperatures have allowed the snow cannons to be fired up.
Since April 18th international travellers have not had to take a pre-departure Covid-19 test to enter Australia.
All incoming and outgoing international travellers may be requested to provide proof they’ve had two doses of an approved vaccine.
