“The easy option for us would have been to not have this event this year, but that wouldn’t have been fair to our passholders as well as our loyal guests.” –Katie Hunter
Happy to report Sierra-at-Tahoe was able to eke out a couple days of operation for the 2021/2022 ski season to celebrate its 75th-anniversary. The Twin Bridges, California ski resort was was closed for several months as it worked to repair heavy damages caused by the Caldor fire. Tons of trees had to be cut down and fire damaged chairlifts needed repairs. It was all hands on deck as employees brought snow down from the upper mountain to the base area for the event. Resort staff was down to 50 people from the regular 700. They were able to spin two lifts and the Subaru WinterFest went off with great success. Cheers.
