I’ve lived in Wisconsin for four years now, and I confidently say that I’ve had at least 10 people tell me a very similar story about their first time skiing a real mountain.
However, there is something to be said about that midwestern “can-do” attitude. They’re not afraid to send it, and send it big. I mean, how much harder could Colorado really be than Wisconsin?
Upgrading from a trash dump to the god-damn Rocky Mountains can seem daunting, but not to a Midwesterner. They pull up their overalls, pick the cheese curds out from between their teeth, and full-on send it.
I’d love for somebody to record a Midwesterner going down the slopes saying “ope, sorry!” to every skier they come within 500′ of.
Come to think of it… I could make that video… ????
