PlanetSKI was at the Mighty Coe Festival in Glencoe on Saturday and then headed over to the Nevis Range for the Scottish Slopestyle Championships on Sunday. NEW
The Scottish Highlands have been basking in sunshine all week with a high pressure firmly in charge.
Great news for the organisers of the Mighty Coe snowsports festival held this weekend at Glencoe ski area.
Lots of kit manufacturers set up a test centre on the hill so great access directly onto the ‘Cliffy Chair’ for a couple of laps.
Great spring snow conditions prevailed so it was perfect for trying out some freeride kit.
Planks Clothing set up a rail jam with competitors sessioning to win gear, plus what freebies and merch’ they could catch mid-air!

There were plenty of backcountry courses to join throughout the weekend, and the DJ and refreshments on the hill made for a great chilled out vibe to soak up the afternoon sun.

In the evening events moved down to the base station with winter sports movies in the brand new cafe, and then the afterparty topped off a great day.

On Sunday we took a short drive along loch Linnhe to Nevis Range to check out the Scottish Slopestyle Champs.

After a slight delay to let the overnight re-freeze soften up a bit, blue skies and not a breath of wind meant for great conditions for the whole field with all ages taking part.
Things are due to cool down next week with snow showers down to low altitudes.
Hopefully this may be enough to top up those ski areas which still have a base, fingers crossed.
