If you’re looking to own a piece of New England skiing history, here’s your chance. The Friends of Conway Rec. Inc. is auctioning two vintage Cranmore skimobiles chairs, which are regarded as one of the most famous lifts in New England’s skiing history. The lift ran from 1939 until the late 1980s and was unique in how it went up a track. You can watch a vintage video of the Skimobile in action here, and you can read a great historical piece from the Conway Daily Sun here. All of the money raised will be going to Conway Rec. Inc’s Summer Scholarship and Teen Center fund. The bidding starts at $2000, and the auction process is open until March 21st. If you’re interested, you can email your bid to lynore@conwayrec.com.
